Using the Upay System at Catz
This page contains information on the Upay system at Catz. The Upay system is a cashless Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) system that allows you to pay for your meals in Hall by swiping your university card.
You will use your Ravin Account to authenticate and log into Upay's website. Once you have collected your university card, your CRSid and Raven password, click on the link above and log in. There will also be opportunities in College to view how to set up student Upay accounts during Fresher's Week.
How and Where to Use Upay
You can use Upay digitally online or physically in Hall, either to book formals or buy food. From the link above, you can top up your card (using a credit or debit card) and set top-up reminders or auto top-up (by entering bank details) for when your balance reaches a certain point. It is also possible to keep on top of your Upay account with your internet-enabled mobile phone, this link takes you to the log in page of the mobile site: www.upaymobile.co.uk.
You top up in set increments of £10, £20, £30, £50, £100; alternatively, automatic top ups can be set in increments of £2, £3, £5, £10 and £20. You can also arrange for a third party, such as your parents, to be given limited access to top-up accounts; they will not be able to see your account balance or the type of purchases you have made, but can add money for you.
When used in Hall, you will swipe your University Card like a charge card, and the cost of your meal will be deducted from your balance. During an initial transition period, tills in Hall will still accept cash payments from those who have not yet set up their Upay accounts.
